You go beyond the walls,
the boundaries,
the limits.
You stretch beyond the borders -
uncontainable.
To shut you up, to leave you out
is like leaving a lion
in a cardboard box.
You can't be kept silent
and you won't follow -
head down,
tail between legs,
shy and defeated.
Instead you're flying,
running,
bounding,
laughing and dancing ahead.
I can't even keep you
pinned down in a poem.
D Shervington 2006
Wrote that one late last night, and, unusually, it seems to still work this morning.
Yesterday, as well as doing all the dutiful son things one has to do on mother's day, I went with the 'rents to see my sister's future house. It is very nice indeed...
It is possible when I ring up the folks at the temping place today they will some work for me. I live in hope.
Incidentally, I should give you some sort of duck update. At the moment, the ducks on www.liveducks.com are standing and gazing. A worthy activity for a duck to be undertaking, I would say.
