Mostly, over the last few days, I have been going to Henry's, watching Indiana Jones and that sort of thing. Very little work was done over the weekend, but this morning I was very productive.
Yesterday I spent most of the day putting Operation Beaver into...well...into operation. I spent large amounts of time (when I wasn't at church or eating lunch or reading) trying to adapt The Importance of Being Ernest for the radio. I even have quite a few potential cast members. If the project is succesful, there may even be another classic drama on Xpression FM next term! I'd forgotten how much fun it is to have a good old project to get your teeth into.
Can I recommend listening to Xpression FM tommorrow morning between 9 and 9.30 am, on 87.7fm in and around campus and in theory available online at www.xpressionfm.com (although I have yet to see that work) This is not just because my housemates Tim and James present a radio show from 8-10am every Tuesday, although obviously that is the biggest draw of all. Also, from tommorrow at some time in the aforementioned half hour there will be the first part in a weekly serialisation of the first Lewis Wilson short story Lewis Wilson and the Curious Case of the Collapsed Feline*. I have sort of managed to convince Tim that it will be good for his show to slightly extend my usual Thought for the Day slot from last term to just over two minutes in order to serialise my own short stories. And it is an excellent breakfast show; a particular highlight of last term was when a man from Italy phoned up to request a song.
Delightfully, I have got my saxophone and clarinet which I left in Farnborough back with me here in my room. Jon Salter brought them up with him to Exeter, so I owe him one. I think we have some clementines left, Jon, if you are interested. I also have my slippers, which is equally brilliant news since the floors in our house are fairly freezing through much of the day.
Right, I really ought to get back to work...
*Lewis Wilson, in case you didn't know, is a literary character of my own devising, a sort of self-proclaimed but rather deluded detective and at the moment I am currently trying to write the third Lewis Wilson adventure which, for some reason, is prooving a bit difficult. If you wish to read either of the two previous stories yourself and give me some feedback, I'd be very flattered indeed to give you the opportunity :-) I might even give you a smartie.

Can i have a smartie anyway? Incidentally.. does anyone know for sure that the singular form of smarties is smartie? Why not smarty, smartee or bojangle as just a small sample of the plethora of spellings available in this language we call english
....Yes, Alec.
