Just when you try and be a bit economical, you go and discover another excellent Exeter establishment. Today James and I went to Martin's Pie Shop to buy lunch. Its a small place, not far from where Jon Salter lives and the pies are, quite frankly, ridiculously good. Not only is it called Martins, and I know nobody I don't like called Martin, it is also an ideal distance from our house so that when you get in, your pies are just about the right temperature. Nice. I had a fine chicken and mushroom pie, and James had a pasty, which he highly recommends. And the caramel slice was, quite simply, extraordinary. So there's another place to attempt to avoid at lunchtimes. It is so exciting, I had to write a blog post just to say it.
By the way, the photo I think is rather fetching. Well almost. Come on! That's what I am seriously considering looking like when I go out tonight. They are, incidentally, my Dad's sunglasses which I brought to uni with me (with his knowledge, I should add. I think he was rather confused as to why I wanted them). They are rather fine, aren't they? No? Oh well, have it your way monseuir.
