All is well in the land of Dave, I am delighted to report.
Last night I ended up at the Firehouse, having originally planned to have an economy night (I was persuaded by the fact that Tim said he would buy me a drink). It was very pleasant seeing folk rarely seen, and certainly a particular pleasure we found was the opportunity to repeatedly blow out the candles. I think it was an important team-building excercise.
This morning, as promised, the first instalment of Lewis Wilson and The Curious Case of the Collapsed Feline graced the airwaves as part of Tim and James' breakfast show.
Its been one of those days where I keep thinking its the day after. Its not, its today, as you'd expect.
I got my timetable for next semester today, even though it doesn't start for another few weeks. Suffice it to say it is nearly as empty as this semester's except for the fact that I only have one day off a week now, and my lectures are more spread out. But that day off is...wait for it...friday. That, in my opinion is a masterpiece of a timetable. It is important to remember, however that I am doing a degree. Too many snooty science types assume that just because English has incredibly few contact hours it doesn't count as a degree. I like to remind them of the time it takes to read a novel once, let alone enough times to be able to do an exam on it. Plus, you get enough time to get out and see people. Don't get me wrong, I have tremendous respect for scientists and mathematicians, they regularly perform feats of thought which to me are a great mystery. Unfortunately they can also easily outwit me at Monopoly. If there is any call to mock the average english student it is in the fact that we find it absolutely impossible to solve even the simplest mathematical puzzle. I just about stretch to an easy Sudoko.
