It has been a good week for slouching. I have spent most of it reading, writing the next exciting Lewis Wilson adventure, entertaining James and his dad on their way back home and slouching a bit more.
Yesterday easily ranked as the most eventful day of the week. I went up to London to meet Peru team chums Hazel, David, Steve and Rachel. An excellent day it was too. We went to Hamleys Toy Store (and spent a mesmerisingly long time in the wonder that is the pre-school department), which was excellent, although Steve, David and I rather regretted the fact that we were dragged around the girls department by the girls - somehow it even managed to smell of pink. We were much relieved when we managed to escape to the hobbies floor (which had man things like toy soldiers) and even better, the boys floor (which had man things. Like toy soldiers).
In the afternoon we popped along to Somerset House to the ice rink there, basically to laugh at people falling over. As I pointed out at the time, it was a bit like going to see Formula One - you don't want to admit it, but you are really watching it for the crashes. And there were a few particularly good ones.
In the evening we met up with Dan, Tom, Andy, Pete, Alex and asssorted other folks from home who, like us, were going to see the recording of Have I Got News For You. Despite the fact that Joan Collins was the chair woman (shudder, shudder) it was very entertaining indeed.
So today all is back to normal. I believe Dad and I are going to buy a Christmas tree later. That means it must be nearly Christmas...
P.S. Apologies to Rachel who does not appear in the above photo. I did have a photo of all four of us London expeditioneers, but it was incredibly dark and Steve was looking in the wrong direction.
