Disappointing weather and the reasons for it

I was really very dissapointed when we had our hugely stupidly cold spell last week that it didn't snow at all here. But what confounded my irritation was that yesterday it turned warm and..get this..decided to rain. I figured this was wildly unfair because if it had precipatated just a day before, it would have fallen as snow. And lots of it. But yesterday I was prooved incorrect on that count. In the Prince of Wales (home, amongst other things, to TEA, the greatest ale man has ever created) Andy Linton, who being a geography teacher by trade, knows these sorts of things, told me that actually it was the very fact that it had warmed up that caused it to precipitate in the first place. I found that quite an interesting thing. Other treats at the POW included not only exceptional company, but also the remnants of Clare Cobbold's home made gingerbread mansion.

The night before last several of us gathered in Tom Linton's back room (there's your mention Tom, don't let it go to your head) to watch a film called The Wedding Crashers. Despite myself I quite enjoyed it, once I had established what was going on. At one point I think I even embarrasingly laughed very loudly and clapped my hands, but no-one seemed to notice.

It only remains for me to wish you all a very happy new year's eve celebrations... I am sure I shall detail my evening at a later date for you...
