In which I am a bit of a traitor.

I have spent much of today thinking about the impending cu hall group weekend away this weekend. I was supposed to be going over to Westcott Farm where we are having the weekend with Kilmorie and Hope hall reps Andy and Dave at 2:30, but there wasn't enough room in the car for me and the food, so priorities won out. I'll be going later this evening...should be a good weekend, even if it does rain.
So this afternoon I suggested to James that Lucy and him join me at the cafe by the cathedral we wanted to investigate. On the way, incidentally, I was about to come out with some vaguely sexist remark (in jest of course), when an old lady (who was not, as far as I know, associated with either James or Lucy or indeed myself) sternly but with a glimmer in her eye and a smile on her face, half turned to me and said something along the lines of 'you'd better watch what you are saying.' I tried to defend myself but then thought it best to shut up and take her point.

Anyway, we headed for Drakes, the cafe by the cathedral, only to find it was closed. (Its probable the Boston mafia had a heavy hand in this). So we ambled back along the high street before Lucy suggested we go to a little place she knew up a side street. And it was lovely, and cheap and small but excellent. And I plan to return. It won't replace Bostons as a quality place to do some work, but I can imagine its a nice place to go and crash, or read or something along those lines.
