Yesterday I went to see the new Wallace and Gromit film. It is excellent. That is all I'm going to say on that matter.
Well, today I was astounded at the incredible power of Boston Tea Party. I know it gets a mention in almost every other post, but it never ceases to amaze me. Today I was sat working in my room, reading various bits of romantic women's poetry (that is to do with romanticism, not to do with women and heart-shaped boxes of chocolates), when I was suddenly struck by how incredibly bored I was. I will be blunt. I thought the poetry I happened to be reading was unbelievably badly written. And this made me feel guilty and sexist. SO, I decided (as I do far too often) to head for Bostons. Sat there, with James and Lucy, a cup of unreasonably strong coffee and a bakewell tart, my impression of the poetry changed no end. Suddenly, it was subtly and cleverly written, and it turned out that women could write poetry in the 1800s. Either I am very fickle indeed, or Boston Tea Party has the immense power to change my opinion of what I am reading. Extraordinary.
This evening, after CU hall group I was looking forward to sitting down in the empty house (James, Lucy and Tim have gone to see James Blunt, who, in my humble opinion, looks a bit like a walrus) and watching the film Enduring Love (based on the McEwan novel) on DVD. It turns out the novel is very much better. This has nothing to do with the film, and more to do with the fact that a book doesn't freeze in the middle and then give up the ghost on you. I am now declaring war on all rented DVDs, whether from Blockbuster, or, as this one was, from the library. There is nothing quite like a book for reliability.

I have just checked up on the latest batch of blogs from you Dave and it is thoroughly enjoyable to catch up on Exeter in this form. Although I will have to comment on your hideous comparison of James blunt and a walrus. I shall indeed rush to the defence of the walrus party as set my case as follows. Walruses or walri are from the family odobenidae with 2 sub species N.pacific and N.Atlantic although the video to his current "song” when he jumps randomly off a ship appears not to be in a tropical or sub tropical area, due to the intensity of the rainfall, I would hazard a guess that it is temperate, far from plagiophyllic (ice loving) that walrus are. Also there is no distinct sexual dimorphism in between walruses, i.e. they both (male and female) have tusks. I have heard that females of the human species have a few distinct features setting them apart from the males. I shall not dwell on smaller physiological points but they also have no ears...just a contemplation.
Good evening Dave. This is the first time i have looked at your blogs and they are delightful; even "chucklesome". Please continue to create these uniquely shervington-esk entries. Ciao.
What charming people you all are. Thankyou. I promise another entry as soon as humanly possible (i.e. as soon as I think of something interesting to say)
