Thought for the Day

Its been a manic, but exciting couple of days. We're right in the middle of 'Opportunity Week', the Exeter University Christian Union's week of talks and events. I've been in Lopes (my old hall where I am now hall rep) at 8am every day for a prayer meeting, and then again in the evening for a small event (Yesterday I was fairly trounced in the table football competition, mainly because my reaction time was roughly akin to that of a frozen pea), from which we have been inviting people to come with us to the evening talks...(Quick plug: if you are an Exeter student yourself, come along to Holland Hall at 8.30 every night this week...the talks are cracking). This is my excuse for not having posted for a while. Its been very cool talking to people, getting to know their thoughts on Christianity, and asking them provocative questions. It always surprises me how many people are actually interested to talk about God. The media likes to portray everybody as apathetic about God, and of course some people are, but by no means everybody...

Yesterday morning, Tim began his new radio show on the Campus radio station (called, ingeniously or otherwise, Xpression FM...see what they did there... eXeter...Xpression... clever hey?). I popped in at 9, to give my Thought For The Day, a feature which in future will be recorded, but will still be a part of Tim and James' Breackfast at 8-10 on Tuesday mornings. I can't quite remember what I said in my thought for the day, but I vaguely recall moaning about the remote in our house which is supposed to control the TV, Hifi, Video etc, but as far as I am concerned is to complicated to control anything.
